目前索尼对这款相机在内部规格上并未做太大的改变。首先依然采用了ISO值在100到25600的35mm F2.0镜头，支持最近14cm的微距拍摄，能够拍摄每秒60帧的1080P的AVCHD视频，此外同时支持光学和电子取景器。在接口方面完全相同，依然通过四向按键在3英寸非触控120万的TFT LCD显示屏上进行操作。

当然RX1R也带来了一些不同的地方，那就是光学低通滤波器。这一层用于降低摩尔纹—当角度不对的时候容易产生彩虹般的模糊效果。
在看过相关规格之后，外媒对这款全画幅相机进行了样张拍摄，索尼只要你可以承受一些额外的摩尔纹的话承诺"最高锐度的细节呈现".

从上面几张拍摄样张中我们可以看到RX1R和RX1一样都能带来更加梦幻的效果，目前相机只支持RAW格式进行拍照，不过后期索尼为此提供了完善的软件将这些照片转换称JPG等其他格式。
